The first post to any new blog always leaves the author wondering if they should post a long introduction or leave it brief knowing that future posts will adequately cover the interests of the author and the focus of the blog.

I'm going to take the second route, although I will say that if you see many posts about gardening, quilting and grandchildren, you won't see many other topics popping up in this blog.

Our granddaughters always look to their grandmother to make a new wardrobe for their dolls each summer.  They help sew the simple patterns but I create and sew the more intricate outfits.

One of their favorites is the Anne of Green Gables outfit for their American Girl dolls because like preteens everywhere, they often spend quiet hours reading the associated book series and have a 'personal' connection with Ann and her world of literary friends.

I'll show more elaborate designs in the future, but today, Anne begged to be the star of this first post.
